New Material of Dreams ‘Graphene’ Insulation

New Material of Dreams ‘Graphene’ Insulation
2021-09-24

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2010 was awarded to the scientists who extracted the graphene from a piece of graphite. With the process of attaching and detaching sticky tape to and from graphite in pencils, they succeeded in extracting graphene for the first time in the world. Then, what is graphene and what makes this seemingly simple material so special to earn the Nobel Prize for the scientists?

What is graphene?

Graphene is a carbon-based new material, consisting of a single layer of atoms arranged in a two-dimensional structure. It is as super thin as 0.2nm, being one million times thinner than a human hair and ultralight but very durable. With its features of high heat conductivity, tensile strength and electron mobility, the material is widely used for diverse industries and is very popular high-tech material to enable new technologies in the fields of high-speed semiconductor, high efficiency solar cells, flexible display and others.

Graphene Insulation of SynCloud

With its versatile features, graphene adds unique functionalities to clothes. Applying graphene to the yarn for insulation, SynCloud succeeded in enabling various functionalities. Features of graphene insulation are as follows.
1) With high heat conductivity, it can absorb body temperature quickly and make sure to keep it warm for longer time.
2) Degrading microorganism physically and chemically, it provides strong anti-bacterial and antimite functionality.
3) With robust anti-static function, it feels comfortable to wear.
4) Strong durability makes the insulation very resilient.

Graphene insulation keeps you warm and comfortable for longer time without the disturbance of static electricity even during the dry winter season. The insulation is expected to further strengthen functionalities of the products in various fields of functional clothing, beddings, safety wear and others.
