Q. How to mark the use of recycled down on the Care Label?
\n<\/strong>A. No standardized recycled down mark is available yet; adding a separate \u201cRecycled Down\u201d label or tag from the Care Label is recommended.<\/p>\n

Q. Does PRAUDEN provide buyers with Hang-tags for the recycled down?

Q. How is GRS certified?
\n<\/strong>A. An internationally recognized certification for recycled textile, GRS(Global Recycled Standard) is only certified when an outside professional certifier is able to trace the entire manufacture process of clothing – from recycled materials sourcing to manufacture of the finished products- and ensure that the manufacturer stays socially and environmentally and prevents use of any chemical substances for eco-friendliness and sustainability.
\nDeveloped by Control Union on 2008 and transferred to Textile Exchange \u2013 a non-profit textile organization \u2013 on 2011, GRS joins RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) to certify use of recycled materials in the textile industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t

\n– The final corporate buyer (brand holder, sewing factory, etc.) is GRS-certified;
\n– Valid transaction certificates (TC) are issued throughout the entire transaction processes of the recycled down;
\n– GRS Certificate Number is available for the final corporate buyer; Certificate Number to be set forth in the Hang-tag;
\n– Official approval from the final corporate buyer for use of its own GRS Logo.

Q. What are GRS certification standards?
\n<\/strong>A. GRS certification standards break down as follows:<\/p>\n

– Traceability: means systemized traceability of the GRS-certified raw materials purchased and used to manufacture the finished products.
\n– Yield Manageability: means the amount of the GRS-certified raw materials used to manufacture, compared to the amount purchased.
\n– Pollution and Intermix Control System: means the ability of keeping uncertified raw materials \/ products from certified raw materials \/ products.
\n– Training and Education of the GRS Certification
\n– Social Responsibility: means obedience to the governing Labor Standards and Code of Conducts.
\n– Environmental Responsibility: means controllability of waste water, effluents and emissions in treatment facilities.
\n– Chemicals Controllability: means use of the permitted chemical substances for safety.<\/p>\n

Awareness of sustainability has been raised over the past three years since PRAUDEN became the first RDS-certified recycled down provider back in 2015. With more buyers interested in providing recycled down and obtaining GRS Certification and the sources of recycled down are limited to waste clothing and bedding, it is important to become the first mover to secure as much recycled down as needed.<\/p>\n
